“When we were planning our wedding we knew an outdoor ceremony was exactly what we wanted. We live in the busy city of Glasgow and wanted to escape to nature. We spent some time finding our perfect location and finally decided on Isle of Skye as the dramatic scenery was perfect… On the day of our ceremony we spent the morning getting ready together and enjoying the tranquility before the nerves kicked in. We arrived at the Quaraing and started the hike to find our ceremony spot… It was a surreal feeling walking up together knowing that we’d walk back down as husband and wife… To see us standing together saying our vows in the most beautiful location knowing this day would be just for us was amazing. Our day was everything we could have hoped for and more, we’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t feel like a traditional wedding is for them. Go exploring, get the wedding dress muddy and enjoy the moment as it goes by so quickly.” – Diane, on her epic Isle of Skye elopement.
We feel so lucky to have been a part of her and Alex’s love story. Skye is such a magical part of the world and it’s exciting so many couples are travelling here to start their new lives together. It can be difficult to find quiet places with how popular it has become, but thanks to a few tricks of the trade. I stay on the islands in the Outer Hebrides, just across the water from Skye, and love nothing more than exploring this special place with couples from all over the world. I’m can’t wait to return soon to capture more love stories. For now though, here’s Diane & Alex’s wild elopement:
