I met Sheri and her husband Adrian on the magical Isle of Skye whilst they were over touring Europe from the US, to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Sheri herself is an incredibly talented photographer, which always adds some extra butterflies to my tummy when photographing fellow creatives, so it was a huge honour to work with this special couple. We had a blast exploring the island together as I took them to some of my favourite spots. They were both so amazing to collaborate with as they ran up tons of hills for me to get that epic shot, and didn’t let any of the elements stand in their way. Including a huge swarm of highland midges that ate them alive as they posed quietly for an intimate photo (you’ll see what I mean below, that wasn’t snow!) – such champs!
The Isle of Skye has always been a special place for me. Growing up on the Outer Hebrides I have many fond memories travelling through the island with my family. Skye was this mysterious place that was constantly transforming as we passed though it at all times of the year – whether covered in a blanket of snow or thick mist, with bright green earth at the height of summer, or simply invisible as the wild wind and rain covered my view from the backseat window. Now as an adult I’ve enjoyed having the opportunity to explore more the island’s beauty and capturing the love stories of adventurous couples.
I’m looking forward to more trips to Skye this year to create some beautiful images. If you’re planning a trip to the island soon and want an Islander to show you around, and capture your adventure – drop me a line!
Now, onto the lovely Sheri & Adrian…
