A transatlantic love story.
Bride Tessa followed her heart and travelled across the sea from her home in Florida to the little Scottish island of Benbecula to be with her love Iain Alasdair.
After a beautiful proposal they spent weeks transforming the old byre on their croft into their dream ceremony venue. Mucking out mud, painting floors, and filling the space with dried wild flowers and heather foraged on their walks. The result was an absolute dream. <3
Iain Alasdair’s proud brother had the honour of performing their hand fasting and they exchanged traditional Celtic wedding vows. They then all travelled across the island to the most southern tip of South Uist for feasting and celebrations. After which we escaped just before sunset for some stunning golden light beach portraits on the next island Eriskay.
This beautiful couple were so incredible to work with, it fills my heart with joy every time I think back to this day. They ignored the typical island conventions and married in a way they felt true to them as a couple. A year on and they’re now two of my dearest friends. I feel so lucky to have had the privilege to watch them grow as a couple and have them in my life. <3
