Having planned a wedding myself, in my typical laid-back fashion, I know the ins-and-outs of what can be involved. Even if you want a low-key celebration there’s still a lot to consider, especially if you want to do something a little different from the norm. As a result I have decided to start doing a weekly series offering advice on style, alternative wedding venues, DIY projects etc for free-spirited brides like myself. I want to give something back to my readers & help transform my blog into more than just an extended portfolio.
For my first post I want to share some beautiful unique wedding gowns by designer Grace Loves Lace.
Rather like the owner, I also found the task of finding my own wedding dress quite a challenge..I wanted something different to the traditional princess-style dresses that all bridal stores seem to offer… something simple, yet elegant, unique & comfortable to wear. After weeks of searching I was lucky enough to find a magnificent wedding gown the week before my wedding on ebay (more on this another time) but had Grace Loves Lace been around I could’ve saved myself a great deal of anxiety!
Grace Loves Lace offers a gorgeous selection of handmade ready-to-wear wedding dresses for the laid-back bride, drawing inspiration from the free-spirited natural beauty of the bohemian era. They believe brides should be comfortable & true to their own style on their wedding day. Their dresses are made from the finest French laces & silks, offering modern brides beautiful, simplistic gowns that are effortlessly romantic & well priced. In addition to wedding gowns they also provide stunning veils, headpieces, lace boleros, jackets & lingerie.
They are based in Brisbane Australia, but ship worldwide for $80 (about £50.)
Here are a few of my favourite gowns… enjoy:
