I first met Katrina a few years ago at my last employed job in London. She is such a kind, beautiful soul, I instantly took a liking to her. I was so excited when she got in touch to say she was marrying her other half Ian. Katrina is Australian, Ian’s German and they currently stay in Ireland so they had many options of where to have the big day. In the end they decided to marry in the city Ian grew up in, Bonn.
Their ceremony took place at Godesburg Castle and finished at the glorious Steigenberger Petersberg Grand Hotel nestled high up in the Petersberg mountain. Bonn is such a gorgeous city, I really enjoyed my time there. One of my fondest memories of that weekend was travelling up the mountain to the hotel with Ian’s parents and hearing all about the city’s rich history.
I also joined the couple the night before as they mingled with their nearest and dearest at a restaurant right by the stunning river Rhine. It was wonderful to see so many people travel over to join in celebrating their special day.
