I find it difficult to put into words what an incredible experience this wedding was. I normally let my photographs do the talking but I just wanted to say this;
This wedding, and the opportunities it brought, forever changed me. It strengthened my belief in the reason I do this job. It’s always been about the people, the places they take me & the thrill of adventure. I’ll forever be grateful for Tam & Al’s trust & kindness in taking me across the world to capture their wedding. They are such beautiful people & it was an honour to be a part of their day; to witness them make their vows & that special spark between them. They are so at ease with one another, just perfectly in love. It was a joy hanging out with them. They welcomed both my husband & I in with open arms & made us feel like part of the family.
Their wedding took place in Gurragawee, a gorgeous property ran by Tam’s family friend, set in the hinterlands of Byron Bay. It was a place Tam spent much of her childhood, making it the perfect location for her to marry her soulmate & celebrate with family & friends. It was a super laid back, yet stylish, day. I was in my element photographing amongst the stunning surroundings of the property in the Australian sunshine. I fell in love with this region of the country & am already making places to return very soon.
This is the story of their wedding day;
