Bego and Alberto are unalike any couple I’ve ever met before, and I say that with the most love imaginable. Their insatiable zest for life and love for eachother is something very special – with matching tattoos baring the mammal they love the most, shared passions and big dreams for the future. It was impossible not to leave the presence of these two without a huge grin on your face.
They met me just after sunrise outside my apartment in the Gothic Quarter and we explored the beautiful area together. It was fascinating seeing the city through a local’s eyes, areas I had walked through previously were given new meaning after discovering the history behind them. I discovered a few hidden gems, the most special of all was a place Alberto held close to his heart – Plaça de Sant Felip Neri, a square with a dark history, whose walls still bear the damage from a bomb dropped during the civil war.
The hotel across the road was the perfect place for a coffee break, and thanks to a connection of Alberto’s we were given private access to the rooftop terrace. A stunning place you could watch the city below forever.
I feel incredibly lucky to have met these two and look forward to spending more time with them on my next trip to Barcelona very soon.
