It’s taken me a while longer to do this, with a busier winter of travelling & catching up on things, but I’m so glad I finally did. Every year I like to look back on the season that has passed and collect all my favourite memories together. It’s a nice way to take stock of all the adventures I’ve had with my amazing couples, and reflect on what the future should bring.
Travelling great distances for my work has always been a huge part in my business, and 2017 was no different. I was on the road most of May to November, travelling all over by plane, train, bus, ferry… It was thrilling and I loved getting to experience some amazing new places. I was grateful though that 2017 also included more weddings closer to home in the beautiful highlands & islands. With my love and passion for wild weddings and elopements, this part of the country has always made the perfect fit. Lots of adventurous couples come from all over the world to experience this beautiful area, and I feel so lucky to live here and have somewhere as magical as the Isle of Skye on my doorstep.
2017 was a busy one – my first fully booked year. It was incredible to work with so many of my dream couples – wild ones who married in forests, by lochs, in rustic barns, and their family’s back gardens. With grass between their toes, and the big sky above them, they made their vows. Using the beauty of nature as their backdrop, and with any extra decoration loving handmade or grown from scratch. I will always be inspired by the free-spirited souls who find me and want me to join in on their wild adventure.
I’m slowing things down and doing everything a bit differently for 2018, something I’ll probably share more about in a future post. I’m really looking forward to all my upcoming weddings, and delighted for more Hebrides and highlands elopements this year. I’m most excited that my wonderful husband, who has been a massive support since the very beginning, is also going to be joining me on the road for weddings. We’ll be living in our little yellow micro-camper for much of the spring & summer months as we travel between weddings. We’ll be spending lots of time in nature, and living as wild as possible. After 5 years of busting about solo on public transport, it’s going to be a serious game changer. I can’t wait for all our adventures together.
Below you’ll find a selection of my favourite moments from 2017. I’ve only shared a tiny handful of my stories so far, so this also also serve as a preview of what’s soon to come. Thanks to all my gorgeous couples who trusted me in capturing their day, my friends & family who hosted me and my colleagues who supported me along the way. I still have a couple available spots in the diary for any last minute 2018 weddings, so if any of the following images give you butterflies – please get in touch.

Such beautiful work, Maureen. I love all the outdoorsy, woodlandy, beachy weddings that you get. Nx
